Do you have a list of your daily tasks or do you run from pure memory? If you write it down do you just write out a long list of items you need to accomplish and do you pririties them or do you just run from the top. These are all methods and some are more effective than others but you need to find out which one works best for you.
I have learned that if I don't write it down, it won't get done, or it will get done but only because I'm passing by it and it distracts me from the task at hand. Have you ever been doing one task and then another task distracts you and you feel you have to get that done right away, keeping you away from your main task? That is common with me. I have a Squirrel mentality when it comes to tasks. In this blog we will teach you ways of overcoming that mentality with methods such as Get It Done and the Palmadore Technique.
The way of listing my priorities is called Dashboarding (these are all terms we will go through individually. In it I know what I need to write down each day and who I need to talk to, and what is my schedule. Its all presented in one screen, because I do it on a spreadsheet, but you can also photocopy a list or write it all down every day. Here is my Dashboard and this may seem extreme but it works for me and however you decide to set it up is the best for you.

Because of my Dashboard, I know my schedule, who I contacted, my main tasks goals, thoughs, daily priorities, schedule, and I have a place to write down my batching items. As you can see from the image, this is not just my to do list but also my journal, notebook for words of affirmation, and my wins journal each day. We will also go through each of these categories in future blog post.
ACTION ITEMS:
Your task today and this week is to find out what works for you. If you like batching items do that and write it down. If you enjoy To Do List Dopomine Drops than start a check list to do list. Find out what works for you and maybe even try 3-4 methods but find out what makes you happy at the end of the day when you look back and can see all your progress and the fact that you don't have to wonder if you forgot anything.
